Museums and memorial houses of Băiţa

Opened in 1983 in the house where Ion Sugariu (1914-1945) was born, the memorial house displays furniture, tools, photographs, manuscripts and personal belongings of the poet. In a short lifespan he wrote several poetry volumes and many essays, worked as jounalist and literary critique and is considered the first modern poet of Maramures.
