Museums and memorial houses of Tăuţii Măgherăuş
The Totfalusi Kis Miklos collection
The museum is a tribute to Totfalusi Kis Miklos (1650-1702), the first typographer (printer) in north-western Transylvania. Born in Baia Mare, he started school locally, then continued in Fagaras and after finishing his typographer apprenticeship in Amsterdam he returned in Transylvania, in Cluj Napoca, where he had an important contribution for the printing of the first romanian books and for the development of typography. The collection displays typographic press components and old books.
The Village Museum "Acasa"
The museum presents a full-size, traditional peasant homestead from Bozânta Mare, more than 300 years old. It has the house with three rooms, toolshed, barn and stable and inside each of them we can find tools and utensils specific for the area.
